show date moved.

hanging the show dec. 4th!
today the wonderful eyecandy (see pic below) helped me make frames.
poor boy did most of the work.
i can now proficiently make frames with wood, an electric miter saw and staples.
franken-frames have been born.

SOMEBODY HAS BEEN SLACKING.

OR JUST PAINTING
instead of lurking the internets.
putting everything up soon.

10.15.2010

Devotion.

when i started this... i hated everything about it.
i've never had to draw a stupid, jerk faced tiger.
(never been fond of animals in any way, until i started this totem project)
i hated meeting someone who had walls covered in tigers the day after.
all in all, this piece made me wanna throw up until this monday/tuesday.
i hadn't realized 4 hours had passed and i was actually running out of black paint.
i got so fixated.
regardless, i kinda stuck through it, determined that eventually i will have done ALL of the animal totem, that eventually i was gonna have to face this.
so i devoted myself.
and learned something.
and now i'm in love.
the end.

was amazing!
thanks to everyone who stopped by the dream in plastic booth!
we're getting a double booth next year. stop by then too! my diabolical plot to con jareddeal into a paint off is possible!
and i have a super crush on the eye candy.

soooooo
the night prior to that, i'd seen the new ron english gallery, and i'm in love.
again! saw the giant frankenstein and the most amazing paintings/animals ever made!
i'm so glad i went!
it made getting ripped off in little italy worth it.

hey, new nycc friends & lurkers, feel free to drop me a line:

going Pro.

after realizing i do absolutely nothing useful with my hard earned money....
(aside from paying into my house-down-payment)
i'm investing in a macbook pro.
OH THE PRESSURE
being a pc is a labor of love i'm no longer willing to give.
so dear followers, if you happen to make it out to my
oct 30th robostravaganza
(Darkside Records & Gallery,
782 main st., poughkeepsie, ny)
all of the proceeds will go towards my payments on it!
the end.

CONVERGENCE AT THE ARMORY.

http://convergencenyc.wordpress.com/

SWEET LINK BRAH....

just a little desription of how many people really pumped life into this show.
it was anormous and a lot to take in.
it was nice to see all kinds of different things, and to know that if 1/10 of the bullshit crap artwork i saw is successful, i will be.
not to knock anyone's work there, but i would be embarrassed if my name were on say... 30%-40% of it.
it was also nice to see one, count 'em one robot pieces. it factually overjoyed me. i mean, granted all i wanna paint is weird monstery things and robots, it's just nice to see that with that being a pool of artists who get more play than i do, i'm doing something not done and WELL. maybe i've missed the boat. maybe i'm steering it.

it was an amazing night overall, but i just wanted to give my comments, and that i was more intrigued by the actual military historical collection than i was 1/2 the work going on there. so in summation, i could paint an elf vagina or a giant splattered tomato, and make 500 bucks. awesome.

8.12.2010

quick preview

of the stuff i'm donating to jason carpino's group show this saturday
although they'll all have to come back to me, it also includes francie brady and the koi piece.

XAViER ROBOTS: TRUE LOVE <3
(proud owner: Jenny Zuko)

The TO DO LIST.

8.10.2010

my coverage and sadness at electric windows 7-31-10

so sad i didn't get to see faust's stuff, but here are some of my favorites!

slacking

so my homage to my family sold to the runner of the rust riot, who'd sprained some ligament connected to his pinky and he needed a hand. for 20 bucks, best sense of humor ever, i would have given this to mark for free.
but overall my work was loved.
which made me feel slightly loved.

7.10.2010

yay

so my design has made it to shirt and bags!
(fuck all you motherfuckers, b/c i'm on a tote!)

i guess....

i need to do photographs of bigger stuff.... or orchestrate miracles with my scanner.

the amazing francie brady!

installation one of idfk how many of the rise above, pma pieces i wanna do.
started another this morning while i finagled with this in the scanner.
looking at this, i am proud of myself, and how i've come along since january.

7.06.2010

moons over my hammy

well here goes. rise above. and stop being offended.
it's a tribute to charlotte's web. yeah. i'll go with that.

7.01.2010

whaaaat.

during my cleptomaniacal adventure at a.c. moore i was stunned to see that liquitex now makes an acrylic ink.
is it possible and/or wrong that i am now seeking a art supply sugar daddy?
any takers?

6.27.2010

the to do list

so i'm halfway done with this. i wanna put some cutesy things on the right, tattoo flash style.
later you'll see why i titled this the to do list.
also-not to point out my faults but i need to stop and look at my work before i proceed. working from my bed gives some of my work tunnel vision type proportion. this is a prime example. after re-evaluating what i wanted to do with the piece, i decided to leave the hands as small as i'd drawn them in. it will work with the heavy right side better... BUT the original illustration had a gorgeous proportion that balanced it well.
i will be breaking out the table top easel soon b/c this drove me nuts until i figured out where it was going to go.
all in all, i think this piece is amazing. so far.

6.13.2010

getting there,
should be finishing this sometime during the week.

and tada!

fruition

thankfully these guys are really coming along. wanna put some splashy business and some fish blood.... or something. all that's important is that i got home at 4am and i'm still ready to work when i get up.
